Winter and Spring Faculty
 

J. BRENT BATES, Ph.D., is Assistant Rector of  Summit’s Calvary Episcopal Church. He holds a Ph.D. in Liturgical Studies from Drew and an M.Div. from Abilene Christian University.  A native of Texas, he  has lived in Arkansas, China, Manhattan and New Jersey. 

ANDRÉ  BERNARD is a former resident at the Lama Foundation in New Mexico, a student of sacred music and dance for many years, and a Certified Leader of the Dances of Universal Peace. 

CHRISTOPHER BRDLIK  is Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit and an Education for Ministry Mentor. 

MARY CARLOMAGNO is the author of Give it Up! My Year of Learning to Live Better with Less and Secrets of Simplicity. She teaches workshops and lectures to corporations, community organizations and professional groups. 

MICHAEL CHRISTENSEN, Ph.D., is author of many books and director of Communities of Shalom, a United Methodist program that engages congregations and communities in working together for community development, peace and wholeness. 

Sheelagh Clarke, M.A., M.Div., has extensive educational management experience in the English school system. Active in translating the successful practices of small group development for sustainable work, she is Interim Rector at St. Barnabas, Monmouth Junction. 

ANNE DEBEVOISE, M.S., has spent three decades teaching children with learning disabilities, and has been practicing yoga for more than 25 years. She is a certified Hatha yoga teacher. 

JANE DOHERTY, a renowned psychic for more than 15 years, has  been featured on Fox News, CNN, The Today Show, and in numerous publications including The New York Times. 

AVI FRIEDMAN served congregations in Atlanta and Pittsburgh before becoming the Rabbi of the Summit JCC in 2005. He is husband to Jodi and father to Gabi, Jonah, and Jessica. 

DEIRDRE GOOD, Th.D., is a professor of New Testament at The General Theological Semiary in NYC. She received her Masters of Theology at St. Andrews, her S.T.M. at Union Theological Seminary and her  Th.D.at Harvard. 

LISA GREEN, M. Div., Assistant Rector, Christ Church, Short Hills, and former Interweave Associate Director, is a graduate of Drew Theological School, and an Interweave Companion. Her latest published writing is in Compassion: Cultivating a Good heart. 

Maureen Jeffries is an Interfaith Minister, writer and mother of two. She leads meditation workshops, contributes monthly to About Our Children, and blogs atwww.souldish.com. 

MARC LEVIN, co-creator and director of Brick City, is an award-winning filmmaker. 

Pavel Kramata, Ph.D, is Clinical Science Manager at Science First, LLC, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Rutgers’ Susan Lehman Cullman Laboratory for Cancer Research. 

ALISON MAZIE , M.S.W., has had a career in social work and development, and taught at Naropa University and Myhelan Cultural Arts Center. 

ROBERT CORIN MORRIS, B.A., S.T.B., D.D., Interweave Director, is an Episcopal priest, certified spiritual director and meditation teacher. He is the author of Wrestling with Grace, Suffering and the Courage of God, and Provocative Grace: The Challenge in Jesus’ Words, regular essays in Weavings, and his new blog Provocative Ponderings. 

TIM O’CONNELL, Ph.D., a practicing psychologist in Livingston, NJ  completed his training in Holotropic Breathwork at Grof Transpersonal Training in 1995. He offers Holotropic BreathWork workshops bimonthly. 

DONALD JOHNSTONE PECK is an  historian, author and long-time preservationist. 

KAREN REZACH, who earned her Masters in Divinity at Yale and her Doctorate in Education at Seton Hall, is Assistant Minister at Christ Church, Short Hills, as well as Head of the Middle School and Director of the Ethics Institute at Kent Place School in Summit. 

JAMES REHO, M.Div, Ph.D., is a priest at Miami’s Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, a former chemistry professor at Eastern Carolina University, and a certified yoga teacher.  

AMY JOY SMALL is rabbi at Congregation Beth Hatikvah in Summit. She has served as the Dean of Academic Administration at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia and President of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association. 

BARBARA SNYDER, MPhil (Yale), pursues her interest in literary critical approaches to the Bible as a Community Fellow at Drew Theological School and attempts to practice hospitality as co-coordinator of Interfaith Hospitality Network hosting for United Presbyterian Church of Plainfield, where she has recently organized a new soup kitchen.   

JANE TOMAINE is an Episcopal priest, published writer, teacher, and a popular speaker and leader. At her former parish, St. Peter’s, Livingston, Jane developed her book  St. Benedict’s Toolbox, a guide for living a modern Christ-centered life.
